Description
It is 1944. Honor Cusack is a first-year medical student at University College Dublin. She becomes involved with a young German doctor, Oscar Raeder, who has been studying in Dublin since before the war, and supports him when he is suspected of murdering a prostitute. Bridie Keogh was known to have soldiers - and rumoured to have German spies - among her clientele, but as her body is found in one of the preserving tanks in the dissection room, the entire medical faculty is under suspicion. A second murder - this time of a German spy - is also discovered inconveniently near where Raeder lives. As the horror of the concentration camps filters through, Raeder becomes the focus for hatred of Germany. And it turns out that his brother is a POW at the Curragh. Aghast at the prejudice the brothers encounter, and convinced that Raeder is no murderer - Honor agrees to help them both return to Germany, even though she knows this may mean the end of their relationship.

How much does shipping cost?
New Zealand orders of $40 or more receive free shipping. For smaller orders, Christchurch delivery to postcodes beginning with 8 is $5, metro New Zealand delivery is $9, and rural New Zealand delivery is $14.
If your address is rural, please choose the rural delivery option at checkout.
Do you ship outside New Zealand?
We currently ship to Australia for a flat rate of $37. We do not currently ship to other countries.
Can I collect my order?
Yes. Choose local pickup at checkout and collect from 9 Penbury St, Waltham, Christchurch 8023. Pickup orders are usually ready within 24 hours, and we will email you when your order is ready.

We ship with NZ Post. Standard delivery usually takes 3–5 working days, with rural delivery sometimes taking a little longer. We will email your tracking number after dispatch.
