About this book

Description

Set in 19th-century England, the novel follows Devon Sheridan, the Earl of Huntingdon, who is facing financial ruin. Determined to save his crumbling estate, he decides to enter a marriage of convenience—seeking out a wealthy American heiress whose fortune can restore his status. Georgina Pierce, the intended bride, is believed to possess a large fortune and agrees to the match, expecting a practical, emotionless arrangement. However, after the marriage, Devon discovers that her wealth is no longer what he expected. Despite this setback, Georgina challenges his priorities and begins to show him that love, trust, and companionship may matter more than money. As their relationship develops, what begins as a calculated union gradually transforms into a genuine romance, with both characters confronting their assumptions about marriage, pride, and emotional vulnerability.
